How hard should it be to get an electric wheelchair repaired with insurance coverage?

Because one healthcare horror story per day isn’t enough, I want to tell you the story of how I’ve been trying for over two months to get my uncle’s electric wheelchair repaired. It’s still broken. It still hasn’t even been picked up by the company that is supposed to repair it. First, some background information. My uncle has an electric wheelchair because he needs one. He is permanently disabled, including a partial foot amputation and permanent circulation issues in his legs. He is never going to be more ambulatory. He is never not going to need a wheelchair.
