Review: Vanity’s Disciple – Blind Belief… Ill Intention

Review by Sandre the Giant Released: 6th March 2026 If there was ever a country with the history and mythological inspiration for true heavy metal, it would be Greece. But let’s be honest, it is better know for its particular brand of melodic black metal than most other genres. Vanity’s Disciple are looking to change that perception with their debut full length ‘Blind Belief… Ill Intention’, a call to arms for all Hellenic heavy metal warriors out there. It is out now self released. Opener ‘Curse of Midas’ reminds me a lot of really old Iced Earth, the good old days before Jon Schaffer went off the MAGA deep end; it has that same darker edge and riff style and vocally it’s very impressive too (The final track even includes vocals from former Iced Earth singer Stu Block as well, serendipitously). This is a very moody album, a more gritty epic flavour to the likes of ‘Omen of Emptiness’ makes it stand out a little more beyond its more histrionic cousins, but never going too away from…
