One Sunday, I slid the six-foot-glass door of my casita to the right, and instead of closing, all 100+ pounds of glass fell toward me off the tracker, into my hands and almost on to my five-foot body. Luckily, I used to do CrossFit, so I immediately knew how to bend my knees and bear weight. More luckily, my husband was there because I could only hold it for so long. Without hesitation, he stepped out of the bathroom and helped me lean the glass against the frame, so it wouldn’t fall and shatter. When I signed my lease, the casita manager had already alerted me that he “doesn’t work on Sundays, unless it is an emergency.” I figured this classified. So, I texted, sent videos, and several voice notes. There was no reply. About an hour later, the manager said, “Hey I’m sorry, I’m at church.” My hubby and I believe that “Sundays are for brunch.” No matter where we are in the world, Sunday mornings are for trying out a breakfast spot. That’s where we were headed before the 72” by 80” plane…
