What’s the best way to really settle into a new house? Finish a sewing project of course! I started working on the Matchy Matchy Sewing Club Collage Gather Top way back in February, but had to set it aside when class work took over my brain. Feels so liberating and exciting to finish it at last. Step one was to set up my new sewing space. This room is split between my desk and computer, storage, and general sewing/making space, and occasionally needs to also fit a yoga mat. I’m going to try keeping sewing machines tucked away when not in use on this Ikea gate-leg table that can be set up as a full table when needed. The set up feels a bit clunky still, but not bad for a first go at working with a less permanent sewing station. The top itself came out pretty cute I think! I used Matchy Matchy’s own Easy Sew Linen in black and the Medium Black and Natural Gingham Linen. Both were easy to work with, but not as soft as I would prefer. Maybe it will soften up over time in the wash? I love…
