Any die-hard baseball fan that you know is at least a little superstitious. This is especially true if they used to play baseball to some degree. The way they step up to the plate. The way they run on and off the field. The way they tie their cleats. Being a fan is no different. 162 games across 6+ months is an absolute grind, and a bit of consistency helps make that a more normal part of your life. You gotta have the TV (or radio) on. You sit in the same spot on the couch. If you go to the games, you get the same food from the same vendors at the same time during the game. My superstitious tic is that I will wear a hat or a jersey until there are no more wins left in them. I spent far too long making this look pretty. This season, I made a spreadsheet[1] to track the win/loss record of all of my hats and jerseys. Then I color coded it. Then I started tracking all the unique hat/jersey combos.
