I got the car washed and valeted whilst I was shopping, and it feels like such a victory. Cleaning the car is one of those jobs I've been putting off – it's always been tomorrow's problem. The mess inside had been building for a while and it was getting baaaad. Litter in the door pockets and glove compartment, crumbs all over the centre console. Today I decided it was time to take action. I took two bags and filled one with things to keep and one for the bin. James wanted to spend Sunday afternoon at the designer outlet for coffee and a blog session, and my first instinct was to stay home to wash and hoover the car out instead. Then I remembered there's a valeting service at the designer outlet, and realised I could park the car up, go for a coffee and wander round, and return to a lovely clean car. Even though I didn't do it myself, I feel so smug. They did a brilliant job inside and out. Worth every penny, and I didn't have to "waste" an afternoon doing it myself. Funny how…
