Bibiel Hears Things: Sywel Nyw – “Machlud” (Sunset)

Hey people! I woke up to this song yesterday, and I thought I’d write a post about it. It’s definitely one of my favourite songs on Sywel Nyw’s debut album “Deuddeg” (Twelve), maybe even the single favourite one. I happen to have amazing memories with it, too, which certainly contributes to how I feel about it. Sywel Nyw has already been featured on My Inner Mishmash a couple of times and I really enjoy his music in general, but in case you’re not familiar with him, Sywel Nyw is the alias of London-based Welsh musician Lewys Wyn, who is a producer, DJ, composer, singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, and whose musical career started in the Welsh indie group Yr Eira. As Sywel Nyw, he first wrote more alt-pop/electropop type stuff, like this song you’ll hear today, but now makes these house/disco tracks that make you (or at least me) feel happy, with lots of really cool textures and samples, which you’ll hear more prominently on his latest album “Hapusrwydd Yw Bywyd” (Life Is…
