Frederick Cayley Robinson

Frederick Cayley Robinson was an Engliah painter and illustrator active in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He carried some of the style and approaches from the late 19th into the early 20th, even as they were fading in popularity. Notably, he was influenced by the literary medievalism of the Pre-Raphaelite painters and other 19th century British artists. I was curious about the repeated image of a red headed young girl in several of his paintings, but I was unable to find reference to the subject. Perhaps simply a family member used as a model? Robinson’s scenes often revolove around simple family life, but have an edge of magical realism. I’m uncertain which of the images I’ve come across are illustrations and which are gallery paintings.
