Some good bar staffing we have seen 0 ▲ Boak & Bailey's Beer Blog 2 hours ago · Life · hide · 0 comments We’ve seen some great professional behaviour from the staff in pubs lately, from dealing with dodgy pints to treating customers with kindness. We’ve long said that the main thing we want from bar staff is to feel as if they’re engaging with us like fellow human beings. We try not to be annoying, no doubt we fail from time to time, and no doubt customers collectively are an infuriating bunch. But people who are able to come to each interaction with the slate wiped clean, assuming the best, make for the best bar people. We’re thinking here of a barperson who took the time to ask a pair of tourists where they were from, when they’d arrived in town, and if they needed any tips for their stay in Bristol. The advice they gave was good, too. There was absolutely no need to do any of this – they could have just poured the beers, taken payment, and turned away – but it seemed to come from a place of tolerance and curiosity.
