A few days ago, a certain FOSS celebrity decided to post his opinions about LLM usage in open-source software development. It is his right, and I certainly won’t judge him for expressing his opinions. After all, he already has a long history of being really abrasive on some opinions of his. What annoyed me the most was how people on the Fediverse saw this, and decided that it was finally time to talk openly about their own opinions on genAI and LLMs. Without any content warnings. Without any explicit way of allowing folks like me to filter out this content that makes me feel bad. This is not the first time I’m having issues with people sending content without adequate CWs, after all, not everyone has fragile mental health, and a lot of people coming from other networks never learned about this tool.
