Long before I owned a car, I had cassettes to take with me on road trips. Later, I had CDs, then MP3s on CD (who cares about the low quality in a car?) and now a phone playlist. A road trip is great time for an uninterrupted listen to concept albums (The Wall, Thick as Brick, Oxygene, Underwater Sunlight, Time Passages, Tubular Bells, etc.) or for singing along with the entire score of musicals (Grease, A Little Night Music, Joseph, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Wiz, The Sound of Music, etc.), but sometimes you just want assorted catchy tunes, especially if they are about driving (or feature a cool car or two in their video).
