Les Fêtes de la Nouvelle-France started here on Thursday afternoon and is on all weekend. So of course, today, despite the incredibly hot weather (again) I thought to get up early and go into the city, and take some photos to share with you. sitting in the shade of City Hall arts & craft stall This festival is a celebration of the arrival of the French (eh, obviously) here in Quebec, and the establishing of a ‘new’ France. So what does that all mean in reality? It means people get dressed up in 17th century clothing, whatever the weather (and again, it was hot) and they celebrate with food, drink, dance, and of course, a lot of music. a very pink lady a fussillier into the stocks a lady of fashion I only did the festival site in and around the Hotel de Ville (City Hall) even though there are several other site inside the city walls.
