"Voor Vlaanderen, volk en Führer" by Aline Sax

A book only available in Dutch, that will most likely not be translated any time soon. The title means 'For Flanders, the people and the Führer'. It's a study about the motives and worldview of people who collaborated during WWII in Flanders (the Dutch-speaking northern part of Belgium). I read this because living in Flanders, it's impossible to fully avoid right-wing extremist families praising their collaborator grandparents to the heavens. Understanding why it's still a movement and why the sentiment has survived for decades, seemed like a reasonable thing to do. Aline Sax has written a large variety of fiction works, most covering significant events in 20th century Europe. I quite like her work (and her dedicated nerdiness for history), so I'm slowly making my way through all of her books.
