Updated 2026.08.08 Recent Status: Back from Beijing! Feeling grateful for how nice the trip was and being able to meet up with old and new friends. Travel post on it coming soon. Recently Watched: Successful use of flight movie time: • Project Hail Mary (2026) - Wow. Everyone was right about this. • Blades of the Guardians (2026) - Essentially a DnD adventure but with wuxia. Best action movie I've enjoyed in a while and I was hyped AF on the plane. Directed by Yuen Woo-ping, the OG who did Drunken Master (1976)! • Left-Handed Girl (2025) - Wow. Again, everyone was right about this. • Troy (2004) - I wanted more Homer adaptations after being blown away by The Odyssey. This film is based on The Illiad, which The Odyssey is a sequel too. Troy isn't at the level of the current film everyone is talking about, but feels one of those big, old Hollywood epics like Ben Hur (1959) or The Ten Commandments (1956). Fun.
