I've got a milestone coming up and I'm low key excited about it for reasons including but not limited to that I like knowing the specific date something happened, or, as it pertains to the thing I am specifically talking about, the specific date I did something/something happened in my life. For example: I received notice I got into McGill on June 11, 1997 I (kinda) moved to Copenhagen on September 17, 2014 I moved away from Montreal (the second time) on December 22, 2009 I decided to quit drinking on July 6, 2020 I moved away from Montreal (the third time) on August 31, 2022 I saw Nikola Jokić play live for the first time on March 14, 2023 I've always had a head for dates (and numbers in general), which is likely why I am a sentimentalist. Knowing or remembering a date, in the abstract, is unimportant. It's a detail, a simple fact.
