The keyboard will always be faster, no matter how good you are with your mouse. My friend’s example of using the mouse to create a dozen of directories always comes to mind. He right-clicked, created a directory, named it, and repeated the action a dozen times. He could have just done this: % mkdir dir-{1..12} The same goes for all the apps you use. Most of them have shortcuts. If you need to select a menu and then a tool with the mouse, forget it. Use the keybinding 3 or 4 times to speed up this process. Yes, it will slow you down at first. The same thing happened to me when I learnt Dvorak. Repetition is the key. The more you practise, the better you’ll get. I work from home and sometimes I see Mrs Hyde sitting next to me using the mouse. I showed her some shortcuts and now she uses them.
