Despite my best efforts to focus on the books which are languishing on the TBR, there are occasions when my eye is caught by a fascinating new title and I have to source a copy to read straight away. That happened recently when Grant shared his thoughts on “The Name on the Wall” by Herve Le Tellier (translated by Adriana Hunter). He’s an author I’ve meant to get to for ages, but the subject matter of this one sounded irresistible; so inevitably a copy made its way to the Ramblings and instantly bypassed the mountain of other books waiting to be read… Le Tellier is probably best known for his award-winning novel ” The Anomaly”; a polymath whose talents cover journalism, mathematics, food criticism teaching and, of course, writing, he’s been a member of the Oulipo group since 1992.
