Parched

When will the hot weather end? It’s beginning to feel like never but inevitably the earth spins, seasons change and before we know it, autumn will be here. What will the cooler months have in store? More extremes, more storms, biblical rain? What mugs we are! Anyway, hot weather doesn’t motivate me to fish any more than freezing cold. I had one recent trip which was a short evening session on a rising tide at ‘Sandy lane’ with the purple queen as company. We sat facing the sea, there was an off shore breeze and comfortable temperature. It was a lovely evening in a glorious setting but the trouble with fishing on sand is everything gets covered in the stuff. Conditions looked bang on for a Ray but it didn’t happen and I only had one bite all night. Apart from that I’ve been to Norfolk a couple of times, mostly to do a few odd jobs on the boat and trailer but I’ve also taken to the water afterwards, armed with a float rod. More on that another day, maybe… I need to go fishing, it helps…
