Sunrise on The CerebralRift

The Mackinac bridge at sunrise. Introduction Welcome to the new CerebralRift. This new website has been a long time in the making. Over four years. (I know it’s been this long because I found the design files, including the logo and color scheme I put together back in 2022!) Why did it take so long? (I really wanted to say “Why so serious?” here, but it doesn’t quite fit.) There’s a long tale that I could tell, but I will summarize things instead. I had intended to get back to writing in 2018 after getting the old site cleaned up. But there were still things going on in my life that made it difficult to really do the work needed to bring the site back to life. Then several things happened in rapid succession (a death in the family, then pandemic, etc.). During the pandemic I was kind of at lost ends. I stated getting interested in other things, and thought I would start with a clean site. And I did. And I failed. Why? There were many reasons, but in the end I started moving and…
