The beauty of welcoming your newborn daughter into the world in summer is that you get to enjoy the weather and get out of the house more easily. The downside is that nobody sends your tomato plants a memo that, maybe, they should just calm the heck down for a few weeks and not go full YOLO mode. Only 2 of our 4 plants are yet in peak production and this was part of the harvest from less than 6 days of being unattended to. We now get about this much every 3 days and have a beefsteak plant that’s on the cusp of bring ripe, which will only add to the total. There will be lots and lots of pasta sauce and salsa in our future. We had a weird spring, with warm temperatures and that a snap back to colder weather. That wreaked havoc with our apple trees and the harvest this year looks to be a bust. We might get a few here and there, but most of the blossoms were harmed by the cold snap. That’s perhaps for the best given the rest of the tending we have to do while juggling a newborn. We…
