Read the full post at - TIL about Prairie Remnants This infographic from Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota explains how much of the Earth’s prairie ecosystem we’ve lost over the past couple of centuries. More than 70% of America’s Great Plains have been lost to development, and what is left is all in pockets. Even now, it’s easy to drive across the Great Plains region and imagine that it’s all fine and in place when, in reality, what looks like prairie is agricultural grassland with non-native species taking over the space.
