Every step forward in the exploration of consciousness uncovers more questions, as if the process were a recursive function keeping us forever unfinished. How could it be otherwise -- the thing under study is it itself, studying itself. The question I'm after here queries reality: is this waking life, is it dreaming, is it what happens after death, is death even a good name for what's going on.
