i.e. people born in Witham but living in other counties when the 1891 census was taken. Derived from the Ancestry.co.uk website which I believe has many inaccuracies. I just looked for entries where Witham Essex was given as the birthplace. I just found this list on my phone (July 2026). I remember that I once thought about compiling such a list, but I’d forgotten that I’d actually done it. It was probably when the 1891 census information first became available, in the 1990s. It’s a bit weird in a way, but it seems a pity not to share it. If you’re searching this Witham website for people with a particular surname, you might find one of them here. Just remember that its accuracy isnt guaranteed – the compilers of the original may have made mistakes, and I might have missed people out. Also that enumerators in other counties might have been unfamiliar with Essex surnames, so they could have spelt them in unusual ways. Also you find oddities like a daughter, which should mean daughter…
