Manny Patel made the first version of this over thirty years ago when he was a high school student. Now he has returned to his Star Trek Bohemian Rhapsody media mix as a celebration of the show’s 60th anniversary (and Queen’s song is 50, so a double celebration). The footage has been upscaled to 4K, giving the original mashup a makeover. It is certainly a labor of love – each two or three second clip exactly matches a line in the song. I’ve been a bit cheeky and put the lyrics in the picture above to give readers an idea of what they are in for (the video itself doesn’t have any “singalong” subtitles… now there’s an idea! What we do have is Dr Crusher and Kira Neris getting swept away with anywhere the wind blows and Odo playing the piano in perfect time to the song. We have most (if not all) of the mothers of Legacy Trek featured here as the song mentions “mama” so often, so why not? You might want to guess whose death is featured for the line Too late, my time has come, but I reckon…
