If you buy real estate, you may call it your real estate portfolio. Or, you might lump them in together and call it your investment portfolio. If you make things, a portfolio is also extremely useful to demonstrate what you do. Just like a stock portfolio, you might choose to actively maintain your portfolio by adding new work and pruning out old work. You may have a couple of different portfolios; one might demonstrate your artistic work, while another might be a collection of your commercial projects.
