first bookcase pt II........................... 0 ▲ Accidental Woodworker 2 hours ago · Life · hide · 0 comments before I leftI had my appointment with the the VA this AM and before I left for it I had to check this. I had sawn the 3 shelves to length before checking that they would fit. I measured the baselines between the tails because that is the minimum length that the shelves can be.plenty of wiggle roomI have the left end on the left end tail baseline. The right end is 3/8" past the top of the tails. I need only 5/8" past the baselines for the shelves to fit R/L. I got lucky and I'll do the final length once the carcass is glued and set.hmm......The frame has been soaking for a few days now but the paint isn't coming off with the steel wire brush. However, it came off easily when I scraped it with the chisel. The Simple Green softened it enough for it to be scraped. I'm in no hurry for this so I'll let it soak for a few more days. PM sessionUsed my 2" chisel to chop the dadoes for the shelves. I find that I get straighter walls with a larger chisel.first one checkedI'm getting a lot better… No comments yet.
