I doodle with yarn

For the past couple of years I've seen the concept several times: punch needling. I didn't think much of it, I preferred to crochet and knit, and I didn't need another hobby.Then I saw a cute coaster kit the other day, and I had to get it. The advantage was that the kit came with all the materials, including a punch needle.I fell in love with punch needling the moment I figured it out, and each coaster better than the one before.I bought some cheese cloth, and some new embroidery rings. I used up what remained of the yarn to doodle just like I would with my paint markers. It felt so freeing, so joyful. I finished my first doodle, feeling so so so joyful.This is what I want to make now, wild and colourful things that bring a smile to my face. This is more instinctive, more connected to me, combining my love for abstract doodling with the yarns I have loved to work with for so many years.This feels like more than a hobby...
