Nature, friends, what I see in the world as I walk around – all these are the basis of many of my blog posts. Museums, too, inspire me, both to think and to create. When I am in a museum, I can get lost in an artwork, ebbing between the beauty of a piece and then, afterwards, studying the work – what can I see, what do I see.Whenever I spent time in galleries, I lose track of time. Half an hour can pass as if it were a minute. I might spend all that time in a single room, perhaps with only a few works that really stand out to me. I wonder if the more I look, the more I make a memory of a piece or a place, ready for me whenever I want to spend time with art. For instance, writing this paragraph reminded me of an exhibit of British landscape paintings I attended at the Courtauld Institute earlier this year.
