Between waiting for work projects to get rolling, quitting my novel project earlier in the year, wrapping up my main digital aura series blog posts, and losing my cat at the end of June, I’m feeling a bit in the doldrums* and could use a little creativity reboot. I’ve toyed with analog artistic mediums over the past few months, but nothing has struck my fancy yet. *(Not depressed, fortunately, but creatively uncertain and aimless.) I’m currently contracted for a good amount of consulting work, but timelines have gotten pushed back, so I’ve found myself without much project work at the moment (and likely the rest of August). I think I want to take this work lull to refresh my creative practice: to take time for continuing education (reading design books and case studies) and potentially take some creative “field trips” (Artist Dates are the one thing I took from The Artist’s Way), and to evaluate some self-directed project ideas: I’m thinking of making a zine on backyard wildlife /…
