I cannot understand Mozilla. We took time off of X, but we’re back. The internet is changing again, so we’re here as an independent voice for our users and the open internet. @firefox · Jul 20, 2026 They either do not know who their user base is, or they know but those are not the users they want. I care about the open web and I care about privacy. I'm much more in the LLMs are a tool camp, but I still don't want "AI features" shoved down my throat or baked into everything these organizations are releasing. It makes a lot of sense that Mozilla could be a champion of those things. User choice. Privacy. The open web. The web needs web engine variety so Gecko is important. Letting Chromium dominate the web gives Google an outsized say in its standards IMO. But I just can't with Mozilla anymore. I can overlook a lot of shit, but I cannot stand Elon Musk and I can't understand why Mozilla would shut down their fediverse servers and then rejoin X. That's literally the opposite of what I…

I use Vivaldi for mobile browsing. My fav feature would be the note taking one. Great for jot down unfamiliar words that I potentially can use for my writing.

    • @syahaz @michaelharley the problem with Vivaldi on mobile, is that you can't exclude specific websites while automatically deleting cookies and cache for all visited sites.

Brave can do this (on some specific website -> Auto Shred -> Never), which is a huge plus for privacy...

Also, i'd never use a Chromium browser and contribute to the Google monopoly.

vivaldi is the only browser i've seen that has implemented tab groups and 2-layer tab bar correctly. other browser either has "tab groups" but no 2-layer tab bar (chrome, firefox), implements multiple tab bars but only as a folded version of one long one (floorp), or get hooked on that abysmally stupid new-gen "tab sidebar" bullshit. my only gripe with it is that it sometimes has performance issues (and the engine of course) , otherwise it's seriously good.
