When this happens I always think about moving my 20-year cutoff out to 25 years. It would eliminate some of the most common older rolling stock I document. But then I realize it’s important to document it, because soon they, too, will disappear from the roads. I feature a car here when it is/could be more than 20 model years old and I found it parked on the street or in a lot. Here now, the cars. 1975-78 Ford LTD Landau. I don’t often stop my car to photograph an old car that’s parked, but I sure did for this cherry LTD. I spotted it in South Broad Ripple. It bore Tennessee plates, so it’s apparently just visiting. 1975-89 Porsche 911 Carerra. Can you help me date this car more precisely? Porsche is a bit of a mystery to me. I spotted this one in a repair yard in downtown Carmel. 1978-89 BMW 635CSi. Hopefully someone is more plugged into this 6-series coupe’s timeline than me, because frankly it was going to be a lot of work for me to narrow down its year… No comments yet.
