Fool's Journey: A one-page horror screenplay

When you come up with a submission for the Killer Shorts one-page horror script competition, another idea for a short script is sure to follow within hours. True story. It happened to me. Luckily, they accept multiple entries! So here's my other one-page script, shared for your reading pleasure. (And yes, I'm once again using my blog to create a record of authorship in lieu of WGA registration.) Presenting... FOOL'S JOURNEY INT. LIVING ROOM - NIGHT A lit CANDLE provides the dark room's lone oasis of light. In its glow, the PLAYER (a woman of inquisitive but hesitant bearing) sits at a table, shuffling a TAROT DECK. Off to one side, a TAROT GUIDEBOOK (The Pictorial Key to the Tarot). The Player opens to a page showing a CELTIC CROSS SPREAD, and deals out FACE-DOWN CARDS to match the diagram. She leaves the book open beside her. She touches the card in the center, then consults the book. She reads: "This card represents where you are right now." She turns over the card. It's THE FOOL.…
