I Broke My 4th-Grade Class Economy

No hard feelings if you prefer to read here, I just wanted you to know! ✌️In the mid-1990s, our elementary school class took on a big, multi-week project: The Mini City! For a portion of each school day, we acted out the administrative goings-on of a fictional little town. Each student chose what role they wished to play: Run for office, provide a public service, start a business, etc. Play money was our currency, and we all decorated our desks with foam core and marker signage. It was very, very cute. Being the established “draw-er” of the student body, I knew I wanted to open an art-related business. But all my ideas were either too time-consuming or too expensive to pull off. Thankfully, my mom had an amazing suggestion: Trading cards!
