Giving my Canon SureShot Z180u some exercise

Earlier this year I wrote about how old point-and-shoot cameras are always a gamble because they will fail beyond repair. It might be tomorrow, it might be in ten years, but each one will eventually become a brick. My Canon PowerShot Z180u didn’t become a brick when I last used it, but it sure became a lot less useful. The zoom control rocker button fell off, and I can’t find it. This is a good little long-zoom (38-180mm) point-and-shoot. It’s a shame that it’s basically become a fixed-lens camera with this strange turn of events. At least I got through a whole roll of AristaPan 100 in it before the button disappeared. Here are some of the photos I liked best from the roll. I developed the film in Rodinal 1+25. This z180u is similar to my Pentax IQZoom 170SL in size and features. I slightly prefer the Pentax because its zoom is stepless while the Canon’s is not.
