Throughout my career as a software developer I have always had a notebook in front of me. I have tried a few times to keep digital notes but I find it adds too much friction to the process that you just don’t get with pen and paper. I have tried a few techniques like Zettelkasten but end up going back to random notes and drawings while I am trying to work out or remember something. Recently I have started doing the morning pages as recommend in the book “The Artists Way” by Julia Cameron.
