I play as, um, me. I look out at the world exclusively through my own eyes and I am the kind of person who not only owns a highly popular TS (Twin Screen) handheld gaming device, but I also feel the need to carry it with me everywhere. So far, so accurate. Yet as soon as the game reels me in, I begin to wish it would give me a little distance. A mysterious game, its title a corrupted garble of graphics, has been installing itself on Japan’s TS’, the recipients rumoured to die seven days later. It’d be a pretty uneventful game if this turned out to be little more than a spooky urban legend (although Twilight Syndrome spent a highly entertaining chapter playing with that idea), so it’s a good thing the story wastes no time proving this curse is very real by having the first day’s story involve checking up on a friend who downloaded the game.
