top level domains are fun 1 ▲ sidski 2 hours ago · Tech · hide · 0 comments early july i spent a couple of hours browsing top-level domains (TLDs) in search for my own “meme” domain, as some of my friends have had theirs which i always envied. for example stortissvatnet.no by @polsevev, which basically is norwegian for BigDickLake.no lol. reading up on the different TLDs i noticed how not all TLDs are easy to buy. one of the domains i was maybe thinking of getting was fe.tt, which is basically a way of saying “co.ol” in norwegian. here i learned that the .tt-domains (beloning to Trinidad and Tobago) actually are one of the few ones left where you can purchase a one letter domain. but there’s such a hurdle to actually buy one compared to places like domene.shop or godaddy.com that i can’t be bothered - and they’re expensive hehe.. what was also cool to learn was how the soviet union TLD .su still has a status of active. russia owns it of course, and they were actually using it from around 1990 to 1994 before the got the .ru. they are supposed to retire the… No comments yet.
