Fuck "Enforce the Fares"

There is a new organization in Los Angeles calling themselves "Enforce the Fares". If you look at their website, based solely on their visual design you'd probably think that they are a leftist group, or at least Left-Liberal. They are wolves in sheep's clothing, proposing a regressive policy built to make transit more expensive and less public. They should be shamed and fought whenever possible. Going by their own report, A Metro Worth Paying For, they claim that "thoughtful" fare enforcement (what is that?) will fix the budget of the LA Metro. Their boogeyman is "fare evasion", which they blame for nearly all antisocial behaviors on the Metro. Before I get into this, I'd like to make a few things clear upfront: I do not believe that public transit should have fares. Public transit is already paid for, by taxes.
