Rattlesnake Daddy

Country/blues tune, a little bit risqué, popular with the novelty acts in the 40's and 50's. The 1933 release by Bill Carlisle of "Rattlesnake Daddy" is generallty credited as the very first and original version. Two years later bluesman Blind Boy Fuller recorded a similar song by the name of "I'm a Rattlesnakin' Daddy." Though the lyrics and melodies are different in these two songs, they share similar motifs and song structure. I think that the song, though previously unrecorded, widely circulated in the Piedmont region in the early 20th century, That in no way detracts from the merits of Bill Carlisle. Surely, there are traces of that song of it in the archives somewhere, buried under a layer of dust... but I didn't find anything.
