Skies; distance 0 ▲ with words, wonder 1 hour ago · Life · hide · 0 comments My words flow from the blank, full, blue sky that rests above – a sky in which the more I look, the more texture I see; there are ripples and layers and colours; the periphery of individual clouds emerge. The more I look, the more I see. When I am in art galleries, I see something new the more I look at a painting. I might notice a particular detail that stands out, or a colour that I didn’t see on my first impression. With so much detail in an individual painting, it feels like there is always more to see. And there are questions to which I may never know the answer. How did the artist feel when they were painting? What were they thinking? What was their world like? What did they have for dinner? What boundaries exist between the work and the world?⁂ ⁂ ⁂I have been carrying the weight of concepts and themes that I want to think about and perhaps to write about – concepts like change and home and space and distance.
