There are several films and shows that have phones boxes with connections to time travel. There is of course, Doctor Who – and who could forget the Bill and Ted movies? So, here’s another one to add to the list – in a way. Threads of Time was created by Kohei Yamashita in Tokyo, and it follows the trials and tribulations of a young man (played by Kazuma Ozaki). Perhaps he is a university graduate beginning the shūkatsu (就活) job-hunting process, but he isn’t having much luck. The first thing that we witness is him being turned down for a position. After he puts the phone down, he notices that someone has left behind a notepad and a pen, and so writes a message (more of a statement of his current feelings). The next time he visits, he finds that there are responses in the notebook. Who wrote them? Well, that’s up to you to discover by watching the short film below!
