Holy Shit We Have A Berry Bush

I thought this was poison ivy because I'm a west coast idiot at heart We moved to our New England place in the fall of '21 so it wasn't until the following spring that these vine plants with three leaves in the pattern I'd thought was a shoe-in for poison ivy danger (which I'd never seen before, coming from the west coast) started growing in the yard...but that's when I learned that despite having oil that will fuck me up, poison ivy will never have thorns. I idly wondered what this thing was, but knew it wasn't gonna actually harm me and didn't really give it more thought. Fast forward a few years and goddamn if it isn't a fucking blackberry bush1. I know I say this like every other blog post on here but I'm a desert creature so when things grow and do nature stuff that's outside of the realm of "cactus and/or palm tree" I get excited beyond what's reasonable.
