Review: Ageless Gateway – Corruptor of Stars

Review by Sandre the Giant Released: 17th April 2026 The debut release from Polish black metal project Ageless Gateway is the work of one, mysterious individual known as Apparation, and it takes their homeland’s traditionally fiery and blasphemous black metal into new and more dissonant territories. ‘Corruptor of Stars’ is out now through Godz Ov War Productions, a label that knows all about putting out quality black metal. The haunting intro track ‘The One Who Watches’ really gets you ready for the unsettling darkness that comes with Ageless Gateway, a sinister dark ambient hum that gradually intensifies with disjointed whispers. When the title track kicks in, you’re almost grateful for the cathartic release, despite the burning metal being poured into your ears. Classic Polish black metal violence, laced with a dissonant atmosphere and orthodox black metal riffs, Ageless Gateway share their countrymen’s intensity and viciousness, albeit through a more squalling and seasick guitar…
