Hearing Aids Shenanigans

A short story on phones, hearing aids, the Fediverse and a beautiful garden. A new phone for my parents My parents live on the countryside in Germany. I am there for a week to relax and, as usual, fix some technology stuff. So one of the things I fixed was their truly antique wireless telephone. I replaced it with a slightly more modern DECT phone, the Speedphone 12. Behold the beautiful Speedphone12! While I was testing the new setup, my father complained that he started to hear a strange noise in his hearing aids. Stop. Retrace. Think. This made me stop immediately. Could the new DECT phone interfere with his hearing aids? If yes, it was clear we would return the Speedphone and go back to the old setup, because my dad’s hearing loss is so severe that he cannot really enjoy the day without his hearing aids.
