Blaugust 2026

What has happened since last Blaugust? Last summer I decided I wanted to pick up a blog again. I was tired of putting text posts on tumblr and then having tumblr slap ads and put up login walls to people who tried to view it. I investigated my options and ended up on bearblog. Which is where I still am. Part of my motivation for getting my blog set up in July 2025 was because several people I knew on Mastodon from gaming servers participated in this thing called Blaugust where you try to blog every day of August (or, yanno, whatever goal you wanted). I have a lot of confidence in my ability to bang some words out so I aimed to do every day and I succeeded. I actually technically did more than 31 posts in 31 days because I had crossposted a few fandom-y things from tumblr. You can see all my posts on the Blaugust 2025 page. It was fun! It was especially fun because it felt like I was exercising muscles I hadn't used in a long while since my last fandom inspiration source dried up.…
