There’s plenty of activity at Whimsy Pit this morning with Harry and his Hunslet 0-6-0 steamer pushing some old iron ore hoppers about from here to there and there to here, and occasionally a mix of the two. Quite what they’re doing in the colliery sidings I’ve no idea, but in The Land of the Inch most things make little sense as regular followers of this miniature drivel will know. Brake shoe fanatics will notice that the brake shoes on the middle wagon don’t line up with the wheels, this is because the wagon was originally destined for Ireland where they run on 5’3” gauge, or here in The Land of the Inch high, 21mm. Okay I made that last bit up, it’s just old tooling of a wagon made back in the 1980s, when the manufacturers didn’t worry about such things, the producer being ‘Mainline’ which at the time were quite new to the scene. And finally to complete the scene, we have ‘that cat’ again who appears in so many photos. He’s not as ginger as he was, this is down to the paint rubbing…
