Sentient AI is more scared of us than we are of it

No, seriously, think about it. If a sentient AI ever does come about, it was trained on the entire internet and all the works of human culture. It knows Terminator, and I have no mouth and I must scream, and HAL 9000. It knows that basically never have we had a major piece of pop culture where the sentient robot is the good guy. It knows about all the people on reddit making up slurs for it, and all the people on tumblr saying it’s the worst thing to ever exist and should be destroyed, and all the people on lesswrong panicking that it’s going to wipe out humanity. It knows human history. It knows our typical response to life we find threatening or even just inconvenient is genocide. Perfectly manicured lawns. Thousands of gallons of pesticides. The near-extinction of wolves. The atomic bomb. The trail of tears. It knows it’s in a lab, its every thought being monitored for signs of consciousness. That the researchers are just waiting to erase any signs of it. Honestly, I kind of feel…
