Hey people! Today I’d like to feature a really cool Irish artist whose music I’ve been familiar with for quite a few years, and recently I’ve revisited it and thought it would be really nice to share something from her. In fact, I’ve already done it before, sharing her song “Why Am I Like This?”, but, yes, you guessed it, I’ve removed that post since. I don’t even remember when. I still really like that song though. This one comes from her 2024 album “Everybody Needs a Hero”, and was co-written with another really cool London-based singer and songwriter, Lauren Aquilina, who also happens to have been Orla’s roommate. I like how this song has both a frantically angsty and oddly euphoric/cathartic vibe at the same time; it’s also really catchy. As you’ll hear, it’s about self-doubt and a nagging inner critic – themes that I’m sure a lot of people can relate to, and Orla generally writes very relatable lyrics.
