They did not realize the strange lumber folk’s flight was driven by terror. Eastward they pursued to greet these new friends. The newcomers ran with glee. The dragons ran too with their human friends. They were not in dragon form. Soon they discovered a village of homes on the ground and ‘neath the sky. These buildings were made of stone, wood and mud. Each had their own plot of land. The mountain people had no knowledge of shelters built above the ground. Their home city was carved into the rock, places made by removing. No families had space outside of their homes, compartment dwellings in rock. While viewing this place villagers formed lines, weapons readied to defend. To protect their homes from monstrous dragons the villagers chose to kill. They rushed the people while they were still small and not yet changed to dragons. The visitors froze.
