The Return Of The Passport Phone 0 ▲ Tao of Mac 2 hours ago · Tech · hide · 0 comments I find it highly amusing that it has taken this long for people to realise that the passport form factor is actually more usable–if only because you can reach across the entire screen with your thumb–and that a 4:3 foldable makes far more sense both ergonomically and content-wise than the tall, narrow monstrosities we have had to put up with. I was actually a big fan of the Microsoft Surface Duo during the pandemic years, and look forward to seeing what Apple comes up with in October. But my real interest is the opportunity for someone to make a smaller, more compact single-screen device with exactly these dimensions and ergonomics. I have never been a fan of the huge bricks we have had to carry around since the iPhone X, and am not likely to get a foldable until hinge and screen reliability are truly solved (not to mention affordability). But I would buy a single-screen iPhone shaped like this now. Well, maybe not in mauve. No comments yet. Log in to reply on the Fediverse. Comments will appear here.
